Christ: Betrayal and Arrest and Apostle, Peter: cutting off Ear of Malchus -- Christ, nimbed, stands surrounded by helmeted soldiers wielding weapons, including halberds and lances, and at least four holding lit torches, head of Judas over left shoulder of the Christ. In foreground, Apostle Peter, nimbed, raising sword in right hand and with left hand grasping hair of trampled Malchus holding lantern beside wattle fence. In background, city buildings against night sky. Decorated border of scrolling foliate and floreate ornament. Miniature at beginning of Lauds in Hours of the Virgin.
