Christ: Betrayal and Arrest -- Apostle Peter, raises sword in right hand and holds sheath in left hand, leans over Malchus, bleeding from left ear, laying on ground beside lantern, both beside Christ, cross-nimbed with rays, gathering garments in left hand, looking left toward Judas, who embraces Him and extends money sack in his left hand. In background, group of soldiers, men and apostles look toward each other, many are helmeted, hold spears, one with halberd and three with torches. Framed text block of 15 lines is suspended over arbor and path with arbor on which walk two helmeted soldiers, in foreground. Trees and foliage forming arch over scene; miniature within architectural frame.
