Margins decorated with foliate ornament and gold balls; in left margin, kneeling monk, tonsured, wearing gray hood and habit, grasping, with both hands, knot on stem of foliage and looking toward text of second lesson. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn for Matins on 6th Sunday after Pentecost.
