In background, among three men, two wearing hats, look on. Illustration for Second Nocturn in Matins for Good Friday. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration inhabited by half figures of two prophets, wearing hats, emerging from clouds, both holding scrolls inscribed FLAGELLATIO ... and VUE D(OMI)NE ...
