Legend, Trojan War: Death of Hector -- To right, Achilles, wearing full armor and helmet with visor, mounted on bridled and saddled horse, holding shield, drives lance through helmet of Hector, wearing armor, falling from bridled, saddled horse, which tramples another horse, and possibly two more soldiers (head of only one visible); three helmeted soldiers, some with only lances visible, are mounted on horseback behind Hector. Scene in grassy landscape with two trees, against gold sky. Figures painted in grisaille. Margins decorated with floreate and foliate border above and below left column, miniature within gold frame.
