Psalm 039, verse 1 (Vulg., 038, verse 2).
David: communicating with God -- David, crowned, wearing vair-lined mantle, kneels with left hand pointing to his mouth, and looks up toward head of Christ-Logos in cloud.
Psalm 039, verse 6 (Vulg., 038, verse 7).
Bestial devil swoops down and grabs in chest some of coins pushed into purse held by man, possibly usurer, or Personification of Avarice, wearing hat, seated beside the chest.
Figures against gold punched diapered backgrounds, within double arcade of pointed trefoil arches with sexfoil oculus in spandrels, all within initial D decorated with foliage. Marginal extensions of foliage.
