John Baptist, nimbed, wearing garment of skins with two hooves dangling from it, stands on rocky path and with right hand points toward Lamb of God, nimbed, laying on book held in left hand. In background is landscape with river, ships, cliffs, trees, four castles, bridges, and mountains, extending far into the distance.
Miniature enclosed by frame inscribed INTER NATUS MULIERUN NON SUREXI ET MAIOR (sic).
Amid foliate ornament in margins are five birds; putto, seated, with right hand holding foliage and left hand on knee; and hybrid man, with horse hindquarters, holding foliage with left hand.
Miniature and ornament executed in grisaille and gold tones with color accents.
