David: communicating with God -- David, crowned, hands raised, wearing bejeweled robe lined with vair, emerges from opening in ground, and looks up toward medallion in upper right corner of border, enclosing half figure of God, amid rays, raising right hand and holding globe surmounted by cross in left hand. Before David on ground is open book and harp. He is flanked by five men, four of whom wear hat or headgear, four who wear fur-lined garments and one who holds raised sword in scabbard. Scene has background of gold and red diaper, and foreground of green.
Margins decorated with border of foliate and floreate ornament. Within border, medallions enclosing head of man, God, and men.
