Virgin Mary: Purification -- Virgin Mary, nimbed and wearing headdress, kneels, hands extended toward nude Christ Child, rays as cross nimbus, seated on draped hands of Simeon, nimbed, also kneeling. Joseph the Carpenter, holding basket containing two doves with right and and candle with left hand is behind Mary. At left are two women, one veiled, the other wearing headdress; at right are possibly man, wearing hood, and woman, veiled.
Interior scene decorated with architectural elements, including columns, pilasters and niche, and architectural ornament.
Border around two sides of the miniature of blue foliate ornament, with fish, vases (?), head or mask and strings of beads, on gold ground.
Strawberry and viola enclosed in initial S.
