Virgin Mary: Death -- Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled with wimple, with joined hands, reclines on draped canopy bed, head on pillow, flanked by bed curtains. Apostle, probably Peter, nimbed, wearing sash across body from right shoulder, standing next to the bed, extends, with right hand, candle toward hands of Mary; he holds crucifix with left hand. Three other apostles, nimbed, stand behind him, one with both hands to face. Two more apostles, nimbed, sit in foreground, one with head draped, hands clasped, the other holding open book with both hands.
