David: anointed -- David, nimbed, as youth, with hands crossed on his breast, kneels before Samuel, nimbed, kneeling, holding horn of unction in right hand over head of David. Three brothers of David witness scene. Scene in landscape with flock of sheep, trees, and hills. Lower frame of miniature is inscribed D[OMI]NE NE IN FVRORE TUO ARGVAS ME.
