Evangelist Matthew, nimbed, wearing hat, writing with stylus in right hand on scroll held with his left hand on his lap, is seated before cloth of honor, with right foot on footstool. Evangelist symbol (angel) is at right holding inkpot with left hand and stylus case with right hand.
Scene in room with wood ceiling, windows, and door through which building is visible.
Margins decorated with border of floreate ornament inhabited by two birds, one possibly woodpecker.
