Virgin Mary: Annunciation --Archangel Gabriel, nimbed, indicates with right hand scroll held in left hand inscribed AUE GR(ATI)A PLE(NA) D(OMIN)US TECU(M) B(ENEDICTA) T(U) I(N) M(ULIERIBUS) (Luke 1:28). Gabriel faces Virgin Mary, nimbed, holding book with left hand and scroll with right hand inscribed ECCE A(N)CILLA D(OMI)NI FIAT MIHI S(E)C(UN)D(UM) U(ER)BU(M) TUU(M) (Luke 1:38). Vase of lilies is between them. At upper left, bust of God appears amid rays on cloud; rays, emerging from His mouth, descend toward Mary.
