Athanasius, Patriarch: Scene, teaching -- Patriarch Athanasius, nimbed, mitered, wearing vestments, seated on draped faldstool of the animal type, with right hand raised in blessing and with left hand holding crozier, before kneeling Antiochus, with joined hands raised.
At right, hooded monk, wearing monk’s habit, kneeling before cross in ground, with left hand scourging back, bleeding from wounds; possibly representing Personifications of Faith or Penance.
At far right, group of four tonsured monks, the foremost with joined hands raised, all wearing monk’s habits, kneeling, and looking up nimbed, flying angel, beside with hands lowered toward scene and beside floating Lamb of God, cross-nimbed, with right hoof holding cross-inscribed banner; all possibly representing Personification of Patience.
