Abbot or bishop, tonsured, standing on pillow (?) next to crozier at initial I, looking down toward monk, tonsured, wearing gray habit, raising left hand, kneeling in lower margin and looking up at the abbot. Margins decorated with foliate ornament and gold balls. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn for Matins on 02.01, feast of Severus of Avranches.
