Upper half: Moses: receiving Law -- At left, Moses, inscribed MOISES, with joined hands raised, kneeling on rocky outcrop, looking up toward head of God emerging from cloud, extended right hand holding two tablets. Scene inscribed DI TAUEL MIT DEN ZEHN POTEN. Moses: communicating with God -- Moses, inscribed MOISES, with joined hands raised, kneeling before, Christ-Logos, crossed nimbus, gesturing with right hand, standing on rocky mound. Both scenes from chapter 20 of Exodus. Moses: breaking Tables of Law-- At left, Moses, inscribed MOISES, holding tablets with right hand, raising left hand, looks toward five men, one wearing hat, holding hands, dancing in ring around column surmounted by golden calf. Scene inscribed DI IUDEN ABBGOT AIN GULD(EN) KALB. From chapter 32 of Exodus. Lower half: Moses: Golden Calf -- Four men, two wearing hats, standing behind Moses, raising rod with right hand, holding tablets with left hand. All looking up toward golden calf lying amid flames atop mound; below, man with bellows and another carrying bundle of wood (melting golden calf). Scene inscribed MOISES VERPRANT DAS GULDAIN KALB ZU PUSID (?). Moses: Golden Calf -- Three men wearing hats standing behind Moses, extending right hand, holding rod with left hand, looking toward six men around wellhead, one holding bucket attached to rope and pulley, tilting it over bowl held by man, three men drinking, one raising bowl with right hand (drinking molten golden calf).
