Christ: Nativity -- Joseph the Carpenter, nimbed, bearded, with clasped hands holds staff, and Virgin Mary, nimbed, with joined hands raised, both kneel on earth, flanking Christ Child, nimbed, nude, lying in waddled crib, before ox and ass. Scene in shed with wooden walls and window, through which two hooded shepherds look. Landscape beyond. Decorated initial D formed by dragon. Miniature and text within architectural frame of two columns supporting pediment.
