Livres des Merveilles du Monde: Scene, Egypt -- To left on shore, pilgrim, wearing hat, partly kneels and with right hand holds staff and with left hand holds leafy branch also held in beak of crow. Two centaurs, one gesturing and the other, horned, partly kneels and extends object, possibly fruit (date), with right hand to extended right hand of Anthony Abbot the Great, wearing habit with hood (Anthony Abbot the Great: Scene, meeting Centaur). To right on shore, group of six men and women, wearing hats or turban-like headgear, kneel or partly kneel, four raise right hands toward statue of ox on altar (golden idol), beneath which are burnt offerings issuing flames. At far right, within walled courtyard and before building surmounted by cross, tonsured monk, wearing monk’s habit, grasps trunk of tree with left hand and with right hand pours from jug issuing water on the wood. In background, two men, wearing hats, are in conversation amid trees and beside cross-surmounted church. Scene in hilly landscape with trees and water in background.
