Apocalypse: Seal V, Souls of Martyrs -- John, nimbed, is seated, holding open book with both hands on lap. He looks toward altar, supported by four columns, with retable decorated with relief of figure raising right hand, holding globe with left hand, seated on faldstool (?) below architectural canopy. Below the altar, nude souls including one crowned, two tonsured, and two women, move toward right where two angels hold garments for two nude souls. Above in cloud-like mandorla, book is open before Lamb with seven horns, nimbed, bleeding, holding bannered cross-staff, inscribed IHS. Illustration of Revelation 6:9.
