Roman de la Rose: Scene, Reason chastising Lover -- Crowned Personification of Reason, with left hand raised, extends right forefinger toward Lover, wearing tunic with belted purse, raising right hand; both flank tree. Scene against diapered background within frame of miniature decorated with tendrils in right column.
In bottom of left column, rubric caption of scene, CO(M)MENT RAISON EST DESCENDUE AU PIE DE SA TOUR POUR CHASTIER L'AMANT.
