Monk, tonsured, wearing red habit, indicating with right hand book held with left hand, enclosed in foliate initial A. Margins decorated with foliate ornament and gold balls; in lower margin, man reclining on side, supporting head with right hand. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn for Matins on 3.25, feast of the Annunciation.
