Legend, Trojan War: Death of Priam -- To left in temple, possibly Temple of Zeus, with one arched window, helmeted soldier raises sword in both hands aimed toward Priam, crowned, with joined hands raised, kneeling before altar, on which are two idols, possibly one of Zeus; all before crumbling city wall of Troy. Legend, Trojan War: Siege of Troy -- In city gate of Troy, helmeted soldier, raises sword in both hands aimed toward kneeling man, covering head with both hands. In background, helmeted soldier raises sword in right hand and holds belt tied at waist of woman, possibly Helen, city in flames, tower topples, scene against gold sky. Figures painted in grisaille.
