Christ: bearing Cross -- Christ, cross nimbus, wearing crown of thorns, carries cross on left shoulder, wrapping left arm around upright of cross. Behind Him, Simon of Cyrene supports cross arm with both hands. Behind Simon is Virgin Mary, rays as nimbus, veiled, next to Evangelist John. Beside Christ is group of soldiers, wearing helmets, four carrying lances, one carrying halberd. Soldier in foreground, with knotted headgear, wears saber at waist. City is in background.
