Virgin Mary: Annunciation -- Archangel Gabriel, nimbed, stands with scroll inscribed AVE GRA(TIA) from Luke 1:28 in left hand and raises right forefinger toward God, wearing imperial crown, surrounded by rays and extending right hand. Small nude Christ Child descends upon rays toward Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled, with hands raised, kneeling at lectern, upon which is open book. Figures are within walled courtyard, beside open portal, which looks into vaulted room, within which is vase with lily, draped table, and candlestick. Room is decorated with curtain and has two windows.
Margins decorated with floreate border, including cornflowers, inhabited by bird, moths, and dragonflies; by two nimbed angels, kneeling with hands extended, amid peacocks; and by man, grasping vine with both hands.
