Scene, Sports and Games: Chess -- Within gold frame, chessboard with eleven red and gold pieces on squares lettered A and B for five moves; diagram numbered 173. To right of board, initial C decorated with scrolling foliate infilling and with foliate ascender and descender. Left and lower margins decorated with foliate extensions, upper part terminating in long-eared, dragon-like hybrid animal biting frame of board, and lower part on which is winged hybrid man with its head on its hindquarters.
