Christ: bearing Cross -- Christ, nimbus as rays, wearing crown of thorns, bears cross on left shoulder and is surrounded by three helmeted soldiers, one holding mace and the other lance with possibly pipe in mouth; behind them, group of soldiers or onlookers emerging from behind grassy hill with tree to left. In right distance, hill (Calvary) with empty crosses. Decorated border of scrolling foliate and floreate ornament. Miniature at beginning of Sext in Hours of the Virgin.
