Magi: Adoration -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, is seated on canopied bed, holding with both hands nude Christ Child, rays as cross nimbus, extending both hands to chalice held in left hand of Magus kneeling before them. He holds lid of the chalice with right hand. Two other Magi, crowned, are behind the first. One holds coverd chalice with right hand; the other grasps with right hand, lid of chalice held in left hand. Joseph the Carpenter, orant, is beside Mary. Large crowd of onlookers stand in background; behind them are buildings, including tower. Rays descend from star toward Mary. Text below miniature is beginning of Hours of the Virgin, Sext.
