Initial I enclosing eagle as Evangelist Symbol of John, holding blank scroll in claws at beginning of First Lesson on Monday of Octave of Pentecost. Margins decorated on three sides with scrolling floreate and foliate decoration, inhabited by half figure of angel, playing trumpet, emerging from cloud, busts of possibly helmeted soldiers emerging from foliage, many gesturing (left); busts of two men amid foliage (lower).
