Julius Caesar: Scene, Conquest of Gaul, Romans attacking Castle of Uxellodunum -- Among group of helmeted soldiers and men, some wearing brimmed hats, two mount ladders propped on crenellated castle walls, one pierces man on wall with spear. Below them, one holds shield, one aims arrow in bow, two hold bannered lances and several hold spears. Scene in grassy landscape with six tents to right and trees in background. Figures painted in grisaille. Decorated with ivy-rinceaux and floreate ornament in border above and below left column, including daisies and strawberries, miniature within gold frame. Initial C of Ceulx decorated with foliate and floreate ornament. Miniature for Chapter 952 of Faits de Romains.
