Evangelist Luke, nimbed, is seated on bench at table on which is slanted desk. He writes with right hand in, and rests left hand on, open book on the desk. Evangelist symbol (ox) is next to the table. Two slanted shelves containing books are on wall above the ox.
Margins decorated with border of strips of gold and white enclosing floreate ornament including rose, viola, and daisy, and inhabited by goose and two other birds, all pecking at flowers or foliage.
