David: communicating with God -- David, wearing crown on hat, with joined hands, kneels on one knee before draped prie-dieu on which is book. Draped throne is behind him. He looks up toward half-figure of God, nimbed and crowned, raising right hand in gesture of blessing, amid rays in rayed arc of Heaven, surrounded by eight red seraphs.
Scene in landscape with flowering plants, stream and city in background. Miniature and text surrounded on three sides by gold frame, partially decorated with floreate ornament.
Margins:
At upper left, David, crowned, indicating eye with left hand, kneeling before draped prie-dieu on which is book.
David: slinging at Goliath -- At upper right, Goliath, wearing tall pointed hat, with stone on forehead, wearing armor, holding scimitar with right hand, reclines on ground. David, crowned, swings sling with right hand, holding pedum with left hand.
David: in Prayer -- At lower left, David, crowned, wearing drawers, with joined hands, stands in stream.
At lower right, David, crowned, plays harp, seated on throne beneath canopy. Book is open on floor at left.
Margins decorated with border of rinceaux, foliate and floreate ornament including strawberry.
