Christ: Nativity -- Virgin Mary, nimbed, kneels with joined hands, before nude Christ Child, rays as nimbus, reclining amid rays on cloth on ground. At right Joseph the Carpenter kneels with joined hands. Behind them is ox and ass. Above two angels hold scroll. Scene is in front of shed, below thatched roof with hole, next to ruined wall, beyond which is landscape.
Below miniature is inscription DEUS I(N) ADIUTORIU(M) MEU(M) INTE(N)DE (Psalm 70:1, Vulg. 69:2). Miniature is flanked by four angels, one with joined hands; another holding trumpet; third with arms crossed; and the fourth playing harp.Margins are decorated with panels of floreate ornament including rose and viola.
