Christ: Crucifixion -- Christ, nimbus as rays, eyes closed, head inclined, wearing crown of thorns and short loin cloth, bleeding from wounds in head, hands, side, and feet, is affixed with three nails to cross with titulus inscribed INRI from John 19:19, flanked by Virgin Mary, veiled with wimple, and Evangelist John, both with rayed nimbi and hands clasped; all in hilly landscape with trees. Decorated border of scrolling foliate and floreate ornament. Miniature at beginning of None in Hours of the Virgin.
