Apostle, Peter: Denial -- At left, Apostle Peter, nimbed, reclines on grassy hill, amid foliage, beside façade of building with three arched portals. Scene in left portal: Apostle, Peter: Denial -- Accompanied by nimbed man, possibly saint, Apostle Peter, nimbed, raises right hand and gathers garments in left hand, looks toward woman, wearing veil and apron, raising right forefinger toward him. Scene in central portal: Christ: before Caiaphas -- Christ, bound by rope tied at wrists, looks toward Caiaphas, wearing high priest’s miter, seated on canopied throne, both before three helmeted soldiers, holding spears, and male attendant, wearing hat. Scene in right portal: Apostle, Peter: Denial -- Accompanied by nimbed man, possibly saint, Apostle Peter, nimbed, extends right hand and gathers garment in left hand, looks toward bearded man, wearing hat, raising left forefinger toward him, accompanied by female figure (partly visible), all surround pillar surmounted by cock. Framed text block of 15 lines is suspended from tree branch over path with arbor and foliage in foreground. Trees and foliage forming arch over scene; miniature within architectural frame.
