Margins decorated with foliate ornament and gold balls; in upper margin, back-turned cleric, tonsured, kneeling, arms extended, grasping leaf in each hand. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn for Matins on 09.21, feast of Evangelist Matthew.
