Innocents: Massacre -- At left, one of two soldiers pierces infant with sword; the other raises sword over bleeding infant, left hand grasping hair of the infant. Other infants, eyes closed, bleeding from wounds, are on ground.
Christ: Flight into Egypt -- Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, seated sideways on bridled ass, holds with both hands Christ Child, crossed nimbus, left arm around her neck, touching cheeks. Joseph, wearing hat, staff on left shoulder, purse at waist, left hand holding reins of second ass, looks back toward Mary. Another man, possibly Joses, staff over left shoulder stands on far side of second ass.
