Monk, tonsured, wearing gray habit, holding book with both hands, with barefeet, standing on pillow before initial I Margins decorated with foliate ornament and gold balls; in upper margin, man, reclining, extending right arm to drapery in center margin. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn for Matins on 09.30, feast of Jerome.
