Upper half: Balaam: met by Balak -- At left, Balaam, inscribed BALAAM, wearing knotted headdress, holding whip with right hand astride ass (donkey), confronting Balak, inscribed DI HAID(A)NISCH KUNICH, crowned, raising right hand, wearing sword at waist, astride bridled horse, another man wearing hat behind him. From chapter 23 of Numbers. Balaam: rebuked by Balak -- Man standing behind Balaam, name inscribed BALAAM, wearing knotted headdress, raising right hand and looking toward Balak, inscribed DI HAIDANISCH KUNICH, crowned, raising right hand, holding scepter with left hand. Man wearing hat standing at right. From chapter 24 of Numbers. Israelite: with Daughters of Moab -- At right, three women inscribed DI HAIDANISCH(EN) TOCHTER, wearing fillets, one with joined hands raised, kneeling before column and looking up toward horned idol, gesturing with right hand, holding rod with left hand, seated atop the column (Israelite not present). Moses: Midianites slain -- At right two confronted armies of soldiers, some astride bridled horses, with dagger, halberd, sword, star mace. One soldier piercing throat of another with lance; another raising dagger with right hand, grasping helmet of another soldier. Two soldiers, one bleeding, reclining on ground.
