Initial I:
Christ: rebuking Scribes and Pharisees -- In landscape setting, Scribes and Pharisees, some wearing caps, stand before Christ, rayed cross as nimbus, extending right hand.
Scene occurs within initial I composed of classical column.
Margins:
Foliate border, including acanathus-leaf scrolls and candelabrum forms, frames text.
In lower border are two drawings of grotesque faces by Francesco Bettini.
