Christ: Deposition -- Body of Christ, nimbed, eyes closed, wearing short loin cloth, bleeding from wounds in head, hands, side, and feet, is laid on cloth between three nails and crown of thorns and Virgin Mary, nimbed, veiled with wimple, raising left hand to breast. Behind them, Mary Magdalen, nimbed, veiled with headdress, with left hand raising kerchief to face. In background, bases of three crosses on hill and city buildings. Decorated border of scrolling foliate and floreate ornament. Miniature at beginning of Vespers in Hours of the Virgin.
