Man, looking down at open book held with both hands (reading), seated with feet on pillow in initial I decorated with foliate ornament. Margins decorated with foliate ornament and gold balls. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn for Matins on 10.18, feast of Evangelist Luke.
