Christ: among Doctors -- Christ, crossed nimbus, sits on bench, or altar, atop stairs. He extends with right hand open book with pseudo-inscription to one of five men, wearing hood and seated on bench, extending right hand to the book. Another man, wearing pointed hat gestures and looks toward man wearing soft pointed cap. The fourth man, seated on ground, indicates Christ with right hand. The fifth raises another open book with both hands above head.
At right, Christ, crossed nimbus, extends both hands to left hand of Virgin Mary, nimbed and veiled, her right hand grasping His chin. Joseph the Carpenter stands behind her.
