Initial U decorated with foliate ornament, enclosing half-figure of man in profile, extending left hand grasping basket into center margin. Margins decorated with foliate ornament, knot and gold balls; in upper margin, half-figure of angel, extending right hand, holding book with draped left hand. Pen flourished initials. Text is first lesson, first nocturn for Matins on feast of Confessor, not a Bishop.
