1) Christ: Nativity, Magi: Adoration, and Shepherds: Annunciation -- Three angels, pearled nimbi, appear behind grotto, extending hands toward Virgin Mary, pearled nimbus, veiled, partially reclining on mattress with pillows, beside crib with knotted column (?), in which Christ Child, pearled crossed nimbus, swaddled, lies before ass and ox (only heads visible), all beneath star of Bethlehem amid rays from arc of heaven.
Among three crowned Magi at left, all holding gifts, the eldest and middle-aged Magi kneel at foot of the Virgin’s mattress, attended by the standing youngest, beardless Magus; at lower left, Joseph the Carpenter, pearled nimbus, sits with head resting on raised left hand, within lobed frame.
Below in hilly landscape, one of two shepherds wearing conical caps sits playing pipe, and the other holds pedum in left hand, raises right hand, and looks up; flock of two sheep.
Scenes within decorated frame, including interlace panel at bottom.
Inscription above the frame in Armenian, A SAVIOR IS BORN UNTO US.
