Jean Froissart: Chroniques, Book I, Chapter 22 -- From right, French soldiers, in full armor, one carrying oriflamme, two others carrying standards, attack Flemish soldiers, wearing armor and mail and red surcoats, with swords, all but one fallen to ground and wounded.
Text describes battle of Cassel on August 23, 1328, between the French and the Flemish.
