Within bedroom, Personification of Philosophy, veiled, wearing ragged robe inscribed with symbols for pi and theta, holding book in right hand and scepter in left hand, appears before Boethius, seated on canopied bed. Philosophy is accompaniend by three philosophers, two holding shreds of her garment. Four muses stand on opposite side of bed.
Carved chair is placed beside bed. Small painting, perhaps of the Virgin Mary and Christ Child, in circular frame hangs from headboard of bed.
To left of bedroom, beyond arch, is landscape with castle.
Foliate border frames text and miniature. Arms of Bissari family (argent two fess gules two orvets affronted in pale verd) between columns of text.
