Evangelist Matthew, nimbed, seated on canopied throne, holds open book in lap with right hand and places left hand on open book with pseudo-inscription on desk. In cubbyhole in base of desk are additional books. To left hovers angel (Evangelist Symbol), holding open book with pseudo-inscription in both hands.
Margins with foliate ornament inhabited by bird and monkey, holding club, seated backwards astride fantastic animal with beak.
