Gaston Ph³bbus, wearing hat, medallion around neck, fur-lined robe, gesturing with right hand and holding scepter with left hand, is seated on throne with canopy. Before him and flanking him are huntsmen, some wearing hats or caps, one with hunting horn, one with purse at waist with dog bone or biscuit, four holding staves, four holding dog leashes, one putting collar on dog. Among the eight dogs are greyhound, hounds, and spaniel.
Margins decorated with vertical bars from which emerge border of rinceaux. In lower margin, heraldic shield of Brittany (ermine plain; crest: coronet or).
