Evangelist Mark, nimbed, sits (?) at table on which is slanted desk. He writes with right hand in, and rests left hand holding scraper on, open book on the desk. Inkpot and pen case are in foreground on the table. Evangelist symbol (lion) places front paws on the table.
Figures in room with window, through which trees are visible.
Margins decorated with border of strips of gold and white enclosing floreate ornament including viola and rose, inhabited by birds.
