Christ: bearing Cross -- Christ, cross-nimbed, wearing purple garment and crown of thorns, surrounded by soldiers carrying spears, bears tau cross over left shoulder. Soldier, wearing mail, carrying three nails in right hand, pulls rope tied to His waist. To left, Virgin Mary, veiled, hands clasped, Evangelist John, and a third nimbed figure (only head visible) follow Him.
Miniature and text framed by foliate border decorated with flowers, including roses and violas.
Initial I decorated with foliate ornament begins John 18:1.
